Abstract: Masses of light tetraquarks are obtained in the diquark-antidiquark picture. Such exotic states can be identified with the known light scalar mesons forming an SU(3) nonet ($\sigma$ meson $f_0(600)$, $\kappa$ meson $K^*_0(800)$, $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$). Mass spectra of light ($u,d,s$) quark-antiquark mesons are calculated within the QCD-motivated relativistic quark model. The relativistic treatment of the light quark dynamics results in mass spectra which agree well with available experimental data for the masses of the most well-established states. Their Regge trajectories exhibit linearity and equidistance.
