Abstract: A small-angle scattering technique is introduced for probing spatial variation of magnetization in solids with resolution down to ∼ 1 μm−1. The technique uses nuclear resonance scattering of synchrotron radiation. The sensitivity to spatial variation of magnetization due to domain walls and domain structure is demonstrated by small-angle scattering of 14.431 keV synchrotron radiation from 57Fe nuclei in unmagnetized α-57Fe polycrystalline foils.
