Abstract: The status of the ATLAS detector at the time of the first circulatingLHC beam is presented. We report on the physics prospects for theearly data with center of mass energies of 10 TeV and 14 TeV andintegrated luminosities of 10 $pb^{−1}$ up to 1 $fb^{−1}$.
