Abstract: The Axion Dark Matter eXperiment (ADMX) searches for axions as part of the halo of our galaxy. These axions have a mass in the range 1–10 µeV and convert to photons in a microwave cavity permeated by a strong magnetic field. ADMX recently incorporated low-noise SQUID amplifiers into the experiment and at present is being upgraded with a dilution refrigerator, permitting operation with noise temperatures of 100–200 mK.
