Abstract: Requirements on the personnel interlock arising from the combination of different sources of ionizing radiation in a single experiment area are considered. As an example the HED experiment at XFEL is presented. HED uses a FEL beam and two high power lasers, each capable of producing ionizing radiation by secondary interactions.
