Abstract: Invenio 2.x moves away from using Marc21 as "the data model" of the repository. This stirred lively discussions in the past that ended up in a new concept for data model(s) within Invenio. After a short discussion of Invenio 1.x' approach to bibliographic data the concerns that were raised in the past are summed up and a brief introduction is given how these concerns seem to be addressed with the upcoming new data model and the doJSON()-framework of Invenio 2.x. This presentation is the introduction to the hands on session on doJSON().
