Searches formassive long-lived particlesin events with displaced verticeswith the ATLAS detector
[ATL-PHYS-SLIDE-2026-045]
60th Rencontres de Moriond on Electroweak Interactions and Unified Theories, La ThuileLa Thuile, Italy, 15 Mar 2026 - 22 Mar 20262026-03-152026-03-22  GO
Many recent efforts at the LHC have been made to investigate the possibility that the new particle we are searching does not decay promptly but is instead long-lived. This has been done via many different creative signatures, including that of displaced vertices (DV), where the new long-lived particle decays into multiple visible tracks after having travelled a certain distance into the detector. [...]

Open cost data in repositories – FAIR enough?
21st International Open Repositories Conference, OR, onlineonline, online, 8 Jun 2026 - 11 Jun 20262026-06-082026-06-11 [10.3204/PUBDB-2026-01772]  GO
The FAIR Guiding Principles (Wilkinson et al., 2016) aim to drive the transformation towards Open Science by ensuring that data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). While typically associated with research data, these principles are also essential for sustainably and inclusively managing publication cost data, which plays a key role in assuring transparency in scholarly publishing. QCD Measurements
[ATL-PHYS-SLIDE-2025-738]
Aspen2026, AspenAspen, USA, 1 Feb 2026 - 6 Feb 20262026-02-012026-02-06  GO
The precision probe of Quantum Chromodynamics at the high-energy frontier offers unprecedented opportunities to uncover long mysteries in the strong interaction sector. This talk will highlight endeavors and achievements from the ATLAS and CMS experiments in milestone QCD measurements, including 1) the precision determination of strong coupling and its running; 2) test of state-of-art QCD predictions via precision differential measurements in channels such as single vector bosons, V+jets and multi-jets; 3) novel probe of jet substructure and event track correlation; 4) next level of double parton interaction measurements; 5) determination of parton density functions using unique LHC data, etc..

openCost & EZB: An Introduction to the New Features for Providing Information on Publication Costs and OA Publishing
openCost: The Road To Publication Cost Transparency - The Next Stage, RegensburgRegensburg, Germany, 7 Oct 2024 - 9 Oct 20242024-10-072024-10-09 [10.3204/PUBDB-2026-01568]  GO
Driven by the openCost project, the EZB is being extended to provide researchers and authors with information on the costs of OA publishing, as well as on funding conditions and subsidies available at their own institution. The new features allow authors to use the EZB to navigate through the details of funding conditions and to estimate publication costs. [...]

As part of our work with cOAlition S, Cottage Labs has been involved in tracking the details of Transformative Agreements, and especially the changing lists of institutions and journals to which they apply. We use this information to give authors up-to-date information about the agreements that cover their work, to ensure compliant Open Access publishing.Transformative Agreements are not a well-defined thing; in our work we have encountered many types of agreements with various strange internal structures and eligibility criteria. The ESAC Transformative Agreement Registry lists around 540 transformative deals for 2024, concluded with about 60 publishers and covering more than 60 countries. While these agreements follow the same underlying principle of combining open access publishing and reading with the ultimate goal of open access transformation, they tend to differ significantly in detail. Two Years After: Cost Monitoring in Finland
openCost: The Road To Publication Cost Transparency - The Next Stage, RegensburgRegensburg, Germany, 7 Oct 2024 - 9 Oct 20242024-10-072024-10-09 [10.3204/PUBDB-2026-01564]  GO
For about ten years, the National Library of Finland and the FinELib consortium office (part of the National Library) have been monitoring Finland’s institutional expenditure to guide FinELib’s negotiations with publishers and to enable the administration of our existing agreements. Most major Finnish HEI’s now share their APC cost data with OpenAPC, while all Finnish HEI’s provide data for our national cost survey, conducted every second year since 2022 and designed to provide an up-to-date picture of the total costs of OA and publication to Finnish institutions.
