Total Cost of Ownership and Evaluation of Google Cloud Resources for the ATLAS Experiment at the LHC
2024Conference on Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics 2024, CHEP 2024, KrakowKrakow, Poland, 19 Oct 2024 - 25 Oct 20242024-10-192024-10-25
The ATLAS Google Project was established as part of an ongoing evaluation of the use of commercial clouds by the ATLAS Collaboration, in anticipation of the potential future adoption of such resources by WLCG grid sites to fulfil or complement their computing pledges. Seamless integration of Google cloud resources into the worldwide ATLAS distributed computing infrastructure was achieved at large scale and for an extended period of time, and hence cloud resources are shown to be an effective mechanism to provide additional, flexible computing capacity to ATLAS. Search for additional Higgs bosons at CMS
202443rd International Symposium on Physics in Collision, PIC2024, AthensAthens, Greece, 22 Oct 2024 - 25 Oct 20242024-10-222024-10-25
Results are presented on searches for additional Higgs bosons using the CMS Run 2 data. The search covers both low mass (below 125 GeV), in the diphoton and ditau channel, and higher masses in the decays into b jets and a top pair. [...]

Data Challenge 2024 - CMS activities
202427th International Conference on Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics, CHEP2024, KrakówKraków, Poland, 19 Oct 2024 - 25 Oct 20242024-10-192024-10-25
To verify the readiness of the data distribution infrastructure for the HL-LHC, which is planned to start in 2029, WLCG is organizing a series of data challenges with increasing throughput and complexity. This presentation addresses the contribution of CMS to Data Challenge 2024, which aims to reach 25% of the expected network throughput of the HL-LHC. [...]

Higgs Pair Production in a Composite 2HDM
2024LHC Higgs Working Group WG3 (BSM) -- Extended Higgs Sector subgroup meeting, Karlsruhe Institute of TechnologyGeneva, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Switzerland, 12 Nov 2024 - 12 Nov 20242024-11-122024-11-12
In composite Higgs models the scalar particles in the Higgs sector are not elementary particles, but of composite nature, arising as pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons from new broken symmetries. In a composite 2-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) thus a 2HDM-like structure is generated, but with couplings already predetermined by the composite nature of the model. [...]
