External-leg corrections as an origin of large logarithms
2022Loops and Legs in Qnantum Field Theory 2022, EttalEttal, Germany, 25 Apr 2022 - 30 Apr 20222022-04-252022-04-30
Obtaining precise theoretical predictions for both production and decay processes of heavy new particles is of great importance to constrain the allowed parameter space of BSM models and to properly assess the sensitivity for discoveries and for discriminating between different possible BSM scenarios. In this context, it is well known that large logarithmic corrections can appear in the presence of widely separated mass scales. In this talk, I will point out the existence of possible large, Sudakov-like, logarithms in external-leg corrections of heavy scalars. [...]

On the scaling limit of the inhomogeneous six-vertex model
2022Student workshop on integrability, Hannover 2022, Leibniz Universitaet HannoverHannover, Leibniz Universitaet Hannover, Germany, 27 Mar 2022 - 31 Mar 20222022-03-272022-03-31
The inhomogeneous six-vertex model is a multi-parametric integrable 2D statistical system. With the anisotropy parameter |q|=1, the model is critical and is expected to exhibit a variety of interesting universal behaviour. [...]

Test Beam Analysis of a Silicon-Strip Module for the CMS Phase-II Tracker Upgrade
2022Virtual Spring Meeting of the German Physical Society, DPG2022, (Heidelberg)(Heidelberg), Germany, 21 Mar 2022 - 25 Mar 20222022-03-212022-03-25
The foreseen Large Hadron Collider upgrade is expected to deliver an integrated luminosity that is one order of magnitude larger after 2027. Rare processes and new phenomena may be observed in this high luminosity era. [...]

Searching for Dark Matter in top quark production with the CMS experiment
2022Virtual Spring Meeting of the German Physical Society, DPG2022, (Heidelberg)(Heidelberg), Germany, 21 Mar 2022 - 25 Mar 20222022-03-212022-03-25
Astronomical observations provide strong evidence that a large proportion of the matter in the universe is “Dark Matter" (DM), which is currently not included in the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. Furthermore, many cosmological models suggest Dark Matter should couple to the SM around the 100 GeV scale, and hence may be produced at the LHC, appearing as missing transverse momentum. [...]

Back to the top: charting the bounds of the standard model
2022Virtual Spring Meeting of the German Physical Society, DPG2022, (Heidelberg)(Heidelberg), Germany, 21 Mar 2022 - 25 Mar 20222022-03-212022-03-25
The top quark, the most massive member of the standard model, is unique in that it is the only known fermion with a Yukawa coupling of order one. In addition, its short lifetime provides us with the only opportunity to study a quark prior to hadronization. [...]
