Abstract: A study of the photoluminescence and photoluminescence excitation spectra of Ni x Mg 1−x O nanocrystals, at low-temperatures. We examine the processes of concentration quenching and supposed mechanisms of energy migration in Ni x Mg 1−x O. It is shown that the edge energies of the charge-transfer transitions in Ni x Mg 1−x O (x = 0.008) and NiO are practically identical.
