Non-Simplified SUSY: stau-Coannihilation at LHC and ILC

2014

Abstract: The next generation of high-energy experiments will provide many opportunities for the discovery of new fundamental particles and interactions. Although the recent LHC results put strong constraints on the mass of new particles there are still realistic models with moderate masses to explore. Using the example of a series of stau-coannihilation (STC) scenarios based on a phenomenological Supersymmetry approach (pMSSM) we investigate in detail the potential of a 14 TeV LHC for the discovery or exclusion of our models and compare this to the capabilities of a 500GeV ILC. The considered models feature a small stau-LSP mass difference and are compatible with previous experimental results and measurements of the dark matter relic density. For the LHC studies three example analyses have been implemented using a prototypical LHC detector that has been defined as part of the Snowmass efforts. Our studies show a clear complementarity of the LHC and ILC discovery potential.
