Report No.: ATLAS-CONF-2013-071

Abstract: A measurement of the parity violating decay asymmetry parameter, b, and the helicityamplitudes for the 0bhyperon decay 0b! J= (+􀀀)0(p􀀀) is reported. The analysis isbased on about 1400 0band ¯0bbaryons selected in 4:6 fb􀀀1 of proton-proton collision datarecorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC with a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Bycombining the 0band ¯0b samples under the assumption of CP conservation, the value ofb was measured to be 0:28 0:16(stat) 0:06(syst). This measurement provides a test ofseveral theoretical models that predict b values ranging from -0.2 to +0.8.
