Abstract: The recent order-of-magnitude improvement of the electron-EDM bound obtained by the ACME collaboration typically imposes tight constraints on BSM sources of CP violation, thus casting doubts on whether certain models could still provide a viable explanation for the baryon asymmetry of the Universe via electroweak baryogenesis. In this work we explore this issue in the context of two-Higgs-doublet models. We show not only that the baryon asymmetry can still be explained in this scenario, but also that the electroweak phase transition could leave a gravitational wave signature detectable in near-future space-based interferometers such as eLISA.
