The Standard Model successfully describes the known fundamental particles and their interactions, yet several open questions remain. Among these is the particle nature of Dark Matter, a phenomenon pointing to physics beyond the Standard Model. A broad class of theories, including Supersymmetry and flavoured Dark Matter models, feature new spin-0 particles that mediate interactions between Standard Model quarks and the dark sector. In their minimal realisations, these models typically assume the framework of Minimal Flavour Violation (MFV), although this hypothesis severely restricts the allowed flavour structure and may mask otherwise viable scenarios. Extensions that relax the MFV ansatz, such as non-MFV Supersymmetry and Dark Minimal Flavour Violation (DMFV), introduce new sources of flavour violation compatible with existing constraints and give rise to distinctive collider signatures. In particular, several models predict final states featuring a top quark, a charm quark, and substantial missing transverse momentum. This thesis investigates such flavour-violating scenarios using three complementary approaches with the ATLAS detector at the LHC: a dedicated search targeting non-MFV SUSY, a reinterpretation of existing ATLAS searches in the context of DMFV benchmarks, and a reoptimised analysis designed to enhance sensitivity to the DMFV kinematics. All studies use the full Run 2 dataset of proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV. The results yield 95% confidence-level exclusion limits on the parameter space of the considered BSM scenarios. No significant excess compatible with a new physics signal is observed. The results constrain the viable regions of non-MFV SUSY and DMFV models, excluding new mediator masses up to 1.4 TeV, and demonstrate the importance of dedicated heavy flavour final state searches in exploring extensions of the BSM flavour sector.
