Abstract: In the recent years the great potential of Yb:YLF as laser gain medium and its advantage due to its low quantum defect and thermo-optic properties at cryogenic temperatures has been well studied [1]. In [2] a versatile Yb:YLF laser system based on a regenerative amplifier followed by a multi-pass amplifier showed a compressibility of below 1 ps at 100 mJ. This system is seeded by a fiber seed source based on Ytterbium doped silica fibers with a spectrum of around 2,5 nm bandwidth and 1 ns stretched pulses at 1018nm.
