Abstract: This short article is a first of a series describing the scientific journey of exceptional women scientists in experimental particle physics. We interviewed Halina Abramowicz, who started her career in hadron-hadron interactions, in neutrino physics, became an expert of strong interactions, guided the European Particle Physics Strategy Update in 2020 and now moved to an experiment in strong-field QED.
