%X The paper presents the development and performance of the <sup>57</sup>Fe Synchrotron Mössbauer Source (SMS) at the beamline P01 at PETRA III. A detailed description of the experimental setup is provided, including the optical elements and the critical role of high-quality iron borate crystals used as the Mössbauer source. The performance of the SMS is demonstrated through measurements of α-iron and the single-line absorber, K<sub>2</sub>Mg<sup>57</sup>Fe(CN)<sub>6</sub>, underlying the system's capability for precise energy resolution. These results highlight SMS as a powerful tool for advanced material studies, particularly in fields requiring small beam size.
