Abstract: Two ATLAS searches for supersymmetric particles in final states with multiple leptons, optimized for $R$-parity-conserving and $R$-parity-violating models, are reinterpreted in models with variable $R$-parity-violating couplings. The simplified models of pair-produced staus and pair-produced higgsinos are considered. Depending on the $R$-parity-violating coupling strengths, the staus and higgsinos can decay to Standard Model particles directly or to the lightest supersymmetric particles, which decay promptly, are long-lived and decay away from the interaction point, or are stable at collider scales. Limits are placed on both stau and higgsino models. Stau masses in the range of 180 GeV to 340 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level for neutralino lifetimes exceeding $10^{-1}$ ns. The exclusion limits on higgsino masses reach up to 800 GeV in scenarios with lifetimes below $10^{-3}$ ns.
