000613801 520__ $$aThis paper elucidates the softening kinetics during isothermal annealing of an AlSi11 alloy manufactured by laserpowder bed fusion (L-PBF) by using in situ high-energy synchrotron X-ray diffraction complemented bymicrostructure microscopy analysis. Annealing in the temperature range of 20 ◦C to 500 ◦C for one hour led toevolutions in the as-built L-PBF cellular structure, including partial fragmentation of the cell boundaries between20 ◦C and 300 ◦C; the breakdown and transformation into ultrafine Si-enriched particles in the range of 300 ◦C to400 ◦C; and subsequently coarsening at temperatures exceeding 400 ◦C. The evolution of the crystallite size for Siis consistent with the Ostwald ripening equation with an activation energy of 75.8 kJ mol
