Abstract: Extremely bright, coherent and ultra-short pulses have become recently available thanks to theavailability of X-ray Free-Electron Laser sources. Such superior beam properties allow for thefirst time to investigate non-linear phenomena in the X-ray range. In particular the famousBeer-Lambert law was put in question at extremely high X-ray fluences. This work presentsa fluence dependence study of scattering from a magnetic multilayer system carried out at the SCS instrument of European XFEL facility. The magnetic scattering from a CoPt multilayer was collected by a fastCCD detector. A novel method was applied to normalize the scattered intensity from the sample with the help of a specially designed grating structure. The scattered intensity from the sample was investigated under low fluence and high fluence conditions. The scattered intensity normalized to the grating intensity decreases as a function of increasing fluence. This results might indicate existence of stimulated elastic scattering.
