Abstract: Authority records are the backbone for all precise quieries against Invenio. A short outline of the requirements within the project is given to motivate our decision to go for "real MARC authority" within the project. This is further motivated by demonstrating how decent authorities can improve data quality and ease the work for our inputters. After discussing the various use cases (institute histories, author disambiguation, grant assosciations, journal identification) an outline of the MARC structure used is given. This forms the basis for the later implementation of authority control within websubmit.
