Abstract: We discuss a new constraint on the parameter space of axion dark matter that was first presented in~\cite{Blum:2014vsa}. The axion increases the neutron-proton mass difference at neutron freeze-out. The precise measurements of $^4$He produced during Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) sets meaningful bounds on its parameter space.
