Abstract: The XMASS project is a multi purpose low background experiment with large volume of liquid xenon (LXe) scintillator. The current stage with a 835 kg LXe detector was started in 2010. After the commissioning data taking, we have refurbished the detector to reduce PMT related background and resumed data taking. The physics results obtained with commissioning run and the current status of the XMASS are reported.
