Abstract: The detection of neutrinos resulting from the CNO cycle would be the first direct evidence of the nuclear process that is believed to fuel massive stars. A precise measurement of the CNO solar neutrino fluxes would also help resolving the solar metallicity problem, as the predicted fluxes strongly depend on the inputs of the solar modelling. This articles, part of the Magellan 16 proceedings, reviews the connections between CNO neutrinos and solar metallicity, and the experimental attempts to detect them.
