Abstract: The addition of forward proton detectors to LHC experiments will sig- nificantly enlarge the potential for studying New Physics. We discuss a topical example of Higgs production by the central exclusive diffrac- tive process, pp → p + H + p. Special attention is paid to the back- grounds to the H → b ¯ b signal.
