Measurement of the top quark mass with the ATLAS detector using $t\bar{t}$ events with a high transverse momentum top quark
[CERN-EP-2025-015; arXiv:2502.18216]
The mass of the top quark is measured using top-quark-top-antiquark pair events with high transverse momentum top quarks. The dataset, collected with the ATLAS detector in proton–proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV delivered by the Large Hadron Collider, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb$^{−1}$. [...]

Flavored circular collider: cornering New Physics at FCC-ee via flavor-changing processes
[DESY-25-046; arXiv:2503.17019]
We illustrate the potential of a future high-intensity $e^+ e^-$ collider running at the Z pole in probing extensions of the Standard Model via precise measurements of flavor-changing processes. We illustrate this potential both within effective field theories and simplified models inspired by current B-physics data, focusing on selected flavor-physics measurement projections at FCC-ee, and by the theoretically well-motivated scenario of TeV-scale new physics predominantly coupled to third-generation fields. [...]

Measurement of double-differential charged-current Drell-Yan cross-sections at high transverse masses in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector
[CERN-EP-2025-032; arXiv:2502.21088]
This paper presents a first measurement of the cross-section for the charged-current Drell-Yan process $pp\rightarrow W^{\pm} \rightarrow \ell^{\pm} \nu$ above the resonance region, where $\ell$ is an electron or muon. The measurement is performed for transverse masses, $m_{\text{T}}^{\text{W}}$, between 200 GeV and 5000 GeV, using a sample of 140~fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC during 2015-2018 [...]

Leading two-loop corrections to the Higgs di-photon decay in the inert doublet model
[DESY-23-104; KEK-TH-2539; OU-HET-1194; arXiv:2307.14976]
Leading two-loop contributions to the di-photon decay of the Higgs boson are evaluated for the first time in the inert doublet model (IDM). We employ for this calculation the Higgs low-energy theorem, meaning that we obtain corrections to the Higgs decay process by taking Higgs-field derivatives of the leading two-loop contributions to the photon self-energy. [...]

Studies of a Digital SiPM and MAPS Prototypes as Key Technologies for Future High-Energy Physics Experiments
[DESY-THESIS-2025-012]
Hamburg : Verlag Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, DESY-THESIS 169 pp. () [10.48565/BONNDOC-546] = Dissertation, University of Bonn, 2025  GO
Digital Silicon Photomultipliers (dSiPMs) and Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) are emerging technologies, fabricated using commercial Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) processes. These detectors have the potential to become key components in High-Energy Physics (HEP), with the ability to meet the demanding requirements of future experiments. [...]

Metastable strings and grand unification
[arXiv:2401.13333]
The structure of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics points toward grand unifiedtheories (GUTs) where strong and electroweak interactions are unifiedin a non-Abelian GUT group. The spontaneous breaking of the GUTsymmetry to the SM symmetry, together with cosmic inflation, generically leads to metastable topological defects, the mostprominent example being cosmic strings. [...]

Using the W as a standard candle to reach the top
42nd International Conference on High Energy Physics, ICHEP 2024, PraguePrague, Czechia, 17 Jul 2024 - 24 Jul 20242024-07-172024-07-24 Proceedings of Science / International School for Advanced Studies (ICHEP2024), 368 () [10.22323/1.476.0368]  GO
Precision measurements of the top quark mass at hadron colliders have been notoriously difficult. Energy-Energy Correlators (EECs) provide clean access to angular correlations in the hadronic energy flux, but their application to the precision mass measurements is less direct since they measure a dimensionless angular scale. [...]
