AB  - This study investigates a cost-effective, cobalt-free Al<sub>0.5</sub>CrNi<sub>1.5</sub>Fe<sub>2</sub> multi-principal element alloy, based on the most studied AlCoCrFeNi alloy system. The alloy underwent thermal mechanical treatment to induce partial recrystallization, resulting in a multi-phase, multi-scale heterogeneous microstructure.
