AB - Zebrafish (Danio rerio) remain a vital model in developmental biology, genetics, and biomedical research. As research demands increase, refining husbandry and breeding protocols is essential for ensuring animal welfare, reproducibility, and data quality. Key future directionsinclude standardizing care practices across facilities, improving water quality monitoring, and applying selective breeding and genetic screeningto strengthen model reliability. Enhancing environmental enrichment and welfare assessments will further support zebrafish well-being. Theseefforts align with the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) and will contribute to the continued success and translational relevance ofzebrafish-based research.
