AB - This paper introduces sparsity pattern analysis and explicit solution strategies for the initial value problem (IVP) of hybrid implicit multilinear systems of inequality constrained difference algebraic equations (dAEs), representing discrete-time hybrid implicit multilinear time-invariant (iMTI) models. Due to the multilinear nature of the functions involved in iMTI models, tensor decomposition methods can be applied to enable e.g. memory-efficient storage of large models. By reordering the incidence matrix associated with the unknown variables regarding the IVP, the structure of multilinear functions can be used, to explicitly solve certain implicit multilinear equations. The proposed approach reduces the complexity of solving certain multilinear systems of equations, facilitating efficient simulation and analysis of discrete-time hybrid iMTI models. The strategy was successfully employed in the simulation of a discrete-time model of a temperature-controlled water tank.
