%X MicroTCA-based LLRF systems for beam control and beam diagnostics are gaining traction in many facilities around the world. Over the past decade, a comprehensive portfolio of hardware solutions (boards, crates, backplanes) has become available to cater for demanding signal processing applications in state-of-the-art facilities like the European XFEL. Gradually, industrial applications of MicroTCA also have become more common. In response various requests, DESY has opened the MicroTCA Technology Lab (A Helmholtz Innovation Lab) in April 2018 as a service unit for research and industry with a focus on: - Customer-specific developments in MicroTCA (hardware, firmware, software), - High-end test and measurement services, - Consulting and system integration. We report on intermediate results and emerging projects after one year of operation, with transfer examples from the industrial automation and medical technology sectors as well as overlapping developments for the physics research community.
