abstract = {Extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics often
predict new particles with masses at the electroweak scale
or up to a few TeV/c$^2$. Searches for the decay of such
particles at the Large Hadron C FCollider most often are
performed by looking for dedicated final states and by
interpreting the results either within a given theoretical
model such as Supersymmetry or in a more generic way using
so called simplified models. Here we highlight key
measurements for Supersymmetry and their usage in parameter
scans. Corresponding searches in the data of the CMS
experiment are summarized and their interpretation in the
framework of the phenomenological MSSM is described.},
