%X The high centre-of mass energy available in run-2 of CERN's Large-Hadron-Collider (LHC) results in an abundant production of heavy particles with high transverse momenta (pT). The boosted decay products of these high-pT particles are collimated in the laboratory system and, in case of hadronic decays, the resulting jets are merged into a single larger jet which features certain characteristics in its substructure. During the last decade, several novel techniques have been developed to study and identify these boosted hadronic decays of heavy particles at the LHC. In this article, we summarize the results of developments on boosted topologies and jet substructure as obtained in the context of the SFB 676 in Hamburg and we discuss a few example results of their application.
