520 _ _ |a This thesis is split into two parts. In the first part the main production mechanisms for heavy flavors in ep-collisions at HERA-energies are presented, namely the $\gamma$g-fusion and the resolved photon processes. Estimates on their cross-sections are given and the theoretical uncertainties in the calculation of the cross-sections are discussed. In the second part several MC-eventgenerators for heavy flavor production in ep-collisions are presented, namely AROMA 1.2, HERWIG 5.1 and PYTHIA 5.6. The influence of initial and final state radiation and the 'soft underlying event' on the event signatures are studied. For the $\gamma$g-fusion the generators AROMA and PYTHIA without initial state radiation are compared. For the $\gamma$g-fusion and the resolved photon processes PYTHIA and HERWIG are compared.
