Note: Ziel des Vorgängerprojekts “openCost” ist es, eine technische Infrastruktur zu schaffen, mit der Publikationskosten über standardisierte Schnittstellen und Formate frei zugänglich ausgetauscht werden können. Damit soll Kostentransparenz auf institutioneller, nationaler und internationaler Ebene ermöglicht werden. Das Nachfolgeprojekt “openCost 2” baut direkt auf dem entwickelten Metadatenschema auf und erweitert die Anwendungen des Schemas. Für die Speicherung von Kostendaten in lokalen Systemen wird ein internes Format entwickelt, welches das Austauschformat um lokale Daten erweitert. Darüber hinaus befasst sich das Projekt mit dem Datenaustausch zwischen Bibliothekssystemen und Repositorien bzw. Forschungsinformationssystemen. Während sich die erste Projektphase auf ein Austauschformat für Artikelbearbeitungsgebühren konzentrierte, werden nun weitere Publikationstypen wie Bücher, Sammelbände und Forschungsdaten betrachtet und das Austauschformat erweitert und zukunftssicher in der OpenAPC-Infrastruktur implementiert. Ein Validator für das openCost-Format wird erstellt, um die allgemeine Nutzung des Formats zu erleichtern. Für die Zuordnung von Artikeln zu allen Verlagsvereinbarungen (Konsortialverträge, Community-Modelle, Mitgliedschaften, Diamond Open Access) wird eine Registry dieser benötigt. Diese wird im Rahmen des Projektes in der Elektronischen Zeitschriftenbibliothek (EZB) implementiert. Zusätzlich soll die EZB ein Dashboard über Open-Access-Informationen erhalten, um auch hier einen schnellen institutionsspezifischen Überblick zu erhalten. Umgesetzt wird dies durch die Zusammenführung bestehender Systeme mit den Informationen aus der EZB.
