As a consequence, photon-ALP conversion could lead to an enhancement of the flux of extragalactic γ-ray sources that is otherwise attenuated due to the interactions with background radiation fields. The magnetic fields traversed by the γ rays are often turbulent and frequently modelled with a simple domain-like structure. Given a maximum mixing between photons and ALPs, we show that in such models realisations of the fields exist for which the photon-ALP oscillation probability vanishes. This behaviour does not occur in more sophisticated magnetic-field models. %B 10th Patras Workshop on Axions, WIMPs and WISPs %C 29 Jun 2014 - 4 Jul 2014, Geneva (Switzerland) Y2 29 Jun 2014 - 4 Jul 2014 M2 Geneva, Switzerland %F PUB:(DE-HGF)8 ; PUB:(DE-HGF)7 %9 Contribution to a conference proceedingsContribution to a book %R 10.3204/DESY-PROC-2014-03/meyer_manuel %U https://bib-pubdb1.desy.de/record/315514
