Double parton scattering and parton correlations inside hadrons
2024Nuclear Physics Seminar Series, NPSs@CUA, Catholic University of Americaonline, Catholic University of America, 18 Apr 20242024-04-18
Double parton scattering is a mechanism in hadron-hadron collisions wheretwo pairs of partons take part in a hard scattering. The initial state isdescribed by double parton distributions, which describe the correlated spectrumof two partons inside a hadron. [...]

Cornering New Physics with precision calculations of Higgs-boson properties
2024Invited Seminar, LPTHE, Sorbonne UniversityParis, LPTHE, Sorbonne University, France, 5 Mar 20242024-03-05
Thanks to its close connection to many unsolved problems of Particle Physics, the 125-GeV Higgs boson constitutes a crucial probe of Beyond-the-Standard Model (BSM) Physics, via precision studies of its properties. Among these properties, the trilinear Higgs coupling provides a unique opportunity to access the structure of the Higgs sector, investigate the nature of the electroweak phase transition of the origin of the baryon asymmetry of the Universe, and search for indirect signs of BSM Physics. Parton Shower theory: from QCD to splitting kernels
2024MCnet Youngster's Meeting, MCnetOnline, MCnet, 25 Jan 20242024-01-25
Parton showers are indispensable tools for realistic predictions of events with strongly interacting partons. At the heart of every parton shower lies a splitting kernel and in this talk, we want to discuss how they work and where they come from. [...]

Ising's Challange and the Conformal Bootstrap
2024Arnold Sommerfeld Center Theory Colloquium, Ludwig Maximilians University MunichMunich, Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, Germany, 7 Feb 20242024-02-07
Throughout the century that has passed since Ernst Ising submitted his PhD thesis in 1924, the Ising (-Lenz) model has provided an incredibly fruitful challenge that gave rise to entirely new branches of physics and mathematics. In this colloquium I will focus on the conformal bootstrap program which was designed by Polyakov in 1974 as a mathematical method to access non-perturbative aspects of critical systems/fixed points of the renormalization groups. [...]
