Measurement of the Drell-Yan Four-foldDifferential Cross Section with the ATLASExperiment
231 pp. () [10.3204/PUBDB-2025-04724] = Dissertation, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, 2025  GO
With the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN,the final elementary particle predicted by the Standard Model of particle physics wasdiscovered. Since then the study of the Standard Model has focussed on precision mea-surements of various parameters and processes of the theory in the hope of measuringsubtle differences between the theoretically predicted values and those observed in na-ture. Integrating radio detectors of cosmic-ray air showers into the open-source NuRadio framework
39th International Cosmic Ray Conference, ICRC 2025, GenevaGeneva, Switzerland, 14 Jul 2025 - 24 Jul 20252025-07-142025-07-24 Proceedings of Science / International School for Advanced Studies (ICRC2025), 345 () [10.22323/1.501.0345]  GO
NuRadio is an open-source, Python-based software package for the simulation, analysis and reconstruction of the radio emission from ultra-high-energy (UHE) neutrinos and cosmic rays. While NuRadio has so far mainly been used for in-ice radio neutrino detectors, such as ARIANNA, RNO-G and the future IceCube-Gen2 radio array, its modularity, provision of standard data processing steps for radio detectors, extensive documentation, and continuous integration system have allowed the LOFAR and SKA experiments to readily adopt NuRadio for the analysis of cosmic-ray air showers. This contribution will provide a brief overview of NuRadio, covering its new features and improvements to performance and usability in the past several years. Thunderstorm Charge Distribution Determination Using Cosmic Rays Induced Air Showers and Lightning Imaging at LOFAR
Geophysical research letters 52(8), e2025GL115586 () [10.1029/2025GL115586]  GO
The LOw Frequency ARray (LOFAR) radio telescope possesses the unique capability to measure ultra-high energy cosmic rays as well as image lightning discharges. This study presents a comparison between the inferred thunderstorm charge structures derived from cosmic-ray measurements and from lightning flashes [...]

Instrument design and performance of the first seven stations of RNO-G
The Radio Neutrino Observatory in Greenland (RNO-G) is the first in-ice radio array in the northern hemisphere for the detection of ultra-high energy neutrinos via the coherent radio emission from neutrino-induced particle cascades within the ice. The array is currently in phased construction near Summit Station on the Greenland ice sheet, with 7 stations deployed during the first two boreal summer field seasons of 2021 and 2022. [...]

Gauge field smearing and controlled continuum extrapolations
[DESY-24-074; arXiv:2410.02794]
When designing lattice actions, gauge field smearing is often used in the definition of the lattice Dirac operator. Too much smearing can result in uncontrolled continuum extrapolations as the short distance behaviour of the theory is mutilated, which is a situation to be avoided. [...]

Setting the Scale Using Baryon Masses with Isospin-Breaking Corrections
[DESY-22-198; MITP-22-101; arXiv:2212.07176]
We present the status of an ongoing project aimed at the inclusion of isospin-breaking corrections arising from the non-degeneracy of the light quark masses and electromagnetic interactions in calculations of the low-lying octet and decuplet baryon masses. Our ultimate goal is to perform a precision determination of the lattice scale including isospin-breaking effects. [...]

The influence of gauge field smearing on discretisation effects
[DESY-22-192; arXiv:2212.04000]
When designing lattice actions, gauge field smearing is frequently used to define the lattice Dirac operator. Since the smearing procedure removes effects of ultraviolet fluctuations, the fermions effectively see a larger lattice spacing than the gauge fields. [...]

Design of a resonant slow extraction from low-emittance electron booster rings using transverse resonance island buckets
[arXiv:2404.02665]
In this contribution, we present the design of a resonant slow extraction based on the radio-frequency knockout (rf-KO) scheme, where we make use of the transverse resonance islands bucket (TRIB) optics. The generation of the TRIB optics is presented in two example lattices, which are considered for the potential upgrade of the current booster at DESY. [...]

Simulating matrix models with tensor networks
[arXiv:2412.04133]
Matrix models, as quantum mechanical systems without explicit spatial dependence, provide valuable insights into higher-dimensional gauge and gravitational theories, especially within the framework of string theory, where they can describe quantum black holes via the holographic principle. Simulating these models allows for exploration of their kinematic and dynamic properties, particularly in parameter regimes that are analytically intractable. [...]

Flavoured jet algorithms: a comparative study
[CERN-TH-2025-113; IFJPAN-IV-2025-13; MCNET-25-14; MPP-2025-118; arXiv:2506.13449]
The accurate identification of heavy-flavour jets — those which originate from bottom or charm quarks — is crucial for precision studies of the Standard Model and searches for new physics. However, assigning flavour to jets presents significant challenges, primarily due to issues with infrared and collinear (IRC) safety. [...]
