Three-loop evolution kernel for transversity operator
[DESY-24-103; arXiv:2407.12696]
We calculate quantum corrections to the symmetry generators for the transversity operators in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) in the two-loop approximation. Using this result, we obtain the evolution kernel for the corresponding operators at three loops. [...]

Single-spin asymmetries observed in polarised deep-inelastic scattering are important probes of hadron structure. The Sivers asymmetry provides information about the transverse momentum of the struck quark and can be related to final-state interactions. [...]

Hamburg : Verlag Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, DESY-THESIS 51 pp. () [10.3204/PUBDB-2025-01195] = Bachelorarbeit, Universität Hamburg, 2025  GO
As the leading theory in particle physics, the Standard Model (SM) defines our understanding of the subatomic world. However, observed phenomena have proven that the SM, despite its great success, is not complete yet and the search for particles Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) has surged ever since. [...]

Structure and properties of tubular structures based on the quaternary misfit layered compound Sm$_{1− x}$ Y$_x$S–TaS$_2$
RSC Advances 15(13), 9605 - 9617 () [10.1039/D5RA00780A]  GO
Misfit layered compounds (MLCs) are incommensurate super-lattices made up of two repeating subunits and are promising for different applications due to the possibility of a synergetic combination of the properties of the employed sublayers. A means of fine-tuning a specific MLC is to alloy one of the elements in the system [...]

Lattice-Matched Ta$_3$N$_5$/Nb$_5$N$_6$ Interface Enables a Bulk Charge Separation Efficiency of Close to 100%
The interface between the semiconductor light absorberand the metal electrode is critical for facilitating the extraction ofphotogenerated charges in photoelectrodes. Achieving a lattice-matchedsemiconductor/electrode interface with low defect density is highlydesirable but remains a challenge for Ta3N5 photoanodes. [...]

Global analysis of fragmentation functions to charged hadrons with high-precision data from the LHC
[arXiv:2407.04422]
Fragmentation functions (FFs) are essential nonperturbative QCD inputs for predicting hadron production cross sections in high energy scatterings. In this study, we present a joint determination of FFs for light charged hadrons through a global analysis at next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD. [...]

Development of high-average-power laser plasma accelerators driven by industrial Yb lasers
160 pp. () [10.3204/PUBDB-2025-01174] = Dissertation, University of Hamburg, 2024  GO
Over the past two decades, laser plasma accelerators (LPAs) have emerged as a groundbreakingtechnology with immense potential for electron acceleration. Their ability to sustainexceptionally high accelerating gradients, on the order of 100 GV/m, and provide electronbunches with only few femtoseconds duration, promises a compact, cost-effective solutionfor numerous industrial, commercial, and medical applications. [...]

Particle Loss by Touschek Effect in a Storage Ring
[DESY-67-005]
A formula for the loss rate of electrons from a stored beam due to the so-called "Touschek Effect" is derived starting with the exact M~ller scattering crosssection. For rectangular distribution of transverse momentum, this formula is integrated explicitly. [...]
