Adsorption of Acetone on Rutile $\mathrm{TiO_{2}}$ : A DFT and FTIRS Study
Acetone adsorbed on rutile TiO$_2$ nanoparticles was investigated with respect to its energetic, vibrational, and chemical properties. Temperature-dependent ultrahigh-vacuum Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurements for different acetone dosages (4.5–900 L) give insights into the acetone adsorption behavior [...]

A Study of the Impact of Muons from the Beam Delivery System on the SiD Performance
International Workshop on Future Linear Colliders 2016, LCWS2016, MoriokaMorioka, Japan, 5 Dec 2016 - 9 Dec 20162016-12-052016-12-09 15 pp. () [10.3204/PUBDB-2017-02151]  GO
To suppress the muon background arising from the Beam Delivery System (BDS) of the International Linear Collider (ILC), and to hinder it from reaching the interaction region, two different shielding scenarios are under discussion: five cylindrical muon spoilers with or without an additional magnetized shielding wall. Due to cost and safety issues, the scenario preferred by the Machine-Detector-Interface (MDI) group is to omit the shielding wall, although omitting it also has disadvantages. [...]

BDSIM simulation model of ATF2 & Background Studies for the Vertical Collimator System
20th ATF2 project meeting, CERNGeneva, CERN, Schweiz, 14 Mar 2017 - 15 Mar 20172017-03-142017-03-15  GO
ATF2 in Japan is a test facility for the final-focus region of the International Linear Collider. In order to proof the functionality of the recently installed vertical beam halo collimator and its impact on the machine backgrounds, background measurements were done in the proximity of the collimator. [...]
