Nanoparticles of Ni(OH)$_2$ surrounded with ultra-low Pt content and supported on functionalized carbon were prepared by a scalable synthesis method and investigated as electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in acidic media. Ligand manipulation of charge transfer excited state relaxation and spin crossover in $\mathrm{[Fe(2,2′-bipyridine)_{2}(CN)_{2}]}$

We have used femtosecond resolution UV-visible and Kβ x-ray emission spectroscopy to characterize the electronic excited state dynamics of $\mathrm{[Fe(bpy)_{2}(CN)_{2}]}$, where bpy=2,2'-bipyridine, initiated by metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excitation. The excited-state absorption in the transient UV-visible spectra, associated with the 2,2'-bipyridine radical anion, provides a robust marker for the MLCT excited state, while the transient Kβ x-ray emission spectra provide a clear measure of intermediate and high spin metal-centered excited states. Coulomb-explosion imaging of concurrent $\mathrm{CH_2BrI}$ photodissociation dynamics
The dynamics following laser-induced molecular photodissociation of gas-phase CH$_{2}$BrI at 271.6 nm were investigated by time-resolved Coulomb-explosion imaging using intense near-IR femtosecond laser pulses. The observed delay-dependent photofragment momenta reveal that CH$_{2}$BrI undergoes C-I cleavage, depositing 65.6% of the available energy into internal product states, and that absorption of a second UV photon breaks the C-Br bond ofCH$_{2}$Br. Near $L$-edge Single and Multiple Photoionization of Singly Charged Iron Ions
Absolute cross sections for m-fold photoionization (m=1,...,6) of Fe+ by a single photon were measured employing the photon-ion merged-beams setup PIPE at the PETRA III synchrotron light source, operated by DESY in Hamburg, Germany. Photon energies were in the range 680-920 eV which covers the photoionization resonances associated with 2p and 2s excitation to higher atomic shells as well as the thresholds for 2p and 2s ionization.
