Microstructure evolution and enhanced creep property of a high Nb containing TiAl alloy with carbon addition
The microstructure evolution and carbide precipitation in a Ti-46Al-8Nb-0.7C alloy as well as its creep properties at intermediate temperatures are investigated by high-energy X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. The alloy with a nearly fully lamellar microstructure exhibits excellent creep resistance, which could be attributed to the good microstructural stability and strengthening effects from both P- and H-carbides. Characterizing transmissive diamond gratings as beam splitters for the hard X-ray single-shot spectrometer of the European XFEL
The European X-ray Free Electron Laser (EuXFEL) offers intense, coherent femtosecond pulses, resulting in characteristic peak brilliance values a billion times higher than that of conventional synchrotron facilities. High-pressure nuclear inelastic scattering with backscattering monochromatization
The capability to perform high-pressure low-temperature nuclear inelastic scattering on $^{125}$Te and $^{121}$Sb with a sapphire backscattering monochromator is presented.
