Investigation of low-energy photoelectron dynamics accelerated in terahertz light fields using a novel Velocity-Map-Imaging spectrometer
[DESY-THESIS-2019-033]
Hamburg : Verlag Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron, DESY-THESIS 155 pp. () [10.3204/PUBDB-2019-05524] = Dissertation, Universität Hamburg, 2019  GO
In this work, the dynamics of low-energy photoelectrons, generated by multiphoton ionization from near-infrared (NIR) laser pulses, in the presence of intense near single-cycle carrier-envelope phase stable Terahertz (THz) pulses, were experimentally investigated. For certain time delays between the NIR and THz pulses, a strong modulation of the photoelectron momentum distribution was observed and attributed to rescattering from the ionic core. [...]

Electronic decay of core-excited HCl molecules probed by THz streaking
Structural dynamics 6(3), 034301 () [10.1063/1.5091756]  GO
The ultrafast electronic decay of HCl molecules in the time domain after resonant core excitation was measured. Here, a Cl-2p core electron was promoted to the antibonding σ* orbital initiating molecular dissociation, and simultaneously, the electronic excitation relaxes via an Auger decay [...]

Correlated electronic decay in expanding clusters triggered by intense XUV pulses from a Free-Electron-Laser
Irradiation of nanoscale clusters and large molecules with intense laser pulses transforms them into highly-excited non- equilibrium states. The dynamics of intense laser-cluster interaction is encoded in electron kinetic energy spectra, which contain signatures of direct photoelectron emission as well as emission of thermalized nanoplasma electrons. [...]
