First Measurements of Beam Backgrounds at SuperKEKB
[arXiv:1802.01366; AIDA-2020-PUB-2018-005]
The high design luminosity of the SuperKEKB electron–positron collider is expected to result in challenging levels of beam-induced backgrounds in the interaction region. Properly simulating and mitigating these backgrounds is critical to the success of the Belle II experiment. [...]

Defiducialization: Providing Experimental Measurements for Accurate Fixed-Order Predictions
[arXiv:2001.02933; DESY-20-001]
17 pp. ()
An experimental procedure is proposed to perform measurements of differential cross sections which can be compared to fixed-order QCD predictions with improved accuracy. The procedure can be applied to the Drell-Yan cross-section measurements which are differential in the boson transverse momentum. [...]

The Belle II experiment comes with a substantial upgrade of the Belle detector and will operate at the SuperKEKB energy-asymmetric e+e− collider with energies tuned to ϒ(4S) resonance s=10.588  GeV. The accelerator has successfully completed the first phase of commissioning in 2016 and the first electron–positron collisions in Belle II took place in April 2018. [...]

Measurements of the Branching Fractions ${\cal B}(B^{-} \to \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} \Xi_{c}^{'0})$, ${\cal B}(B^{-} \to \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} \Xi_{c}(2645)^{0})$ and ${\cal B}(B^{-} \to \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} \Xi_{c}(2790)^{0}) $

Using the data sample of 711  fb-1 of ϒ(4S) on-resonance data taken by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider, we present the first measurements of branching fractions of the decays B-→Λ¯c-Ξc′0, B-→Λ¯c-Ξc(2645)0, and B-→Λ¯c-Ξc(2790)0. The signal yields for these decays are extracted from the recoil mass spectrum of the system recoiling against Λ¯c- baryons in selected B- candidates. [...]

Measurement of the CKM matrix element $|V_{cb}|$ from $B^0\to D^{*-}\ell^ {+} \nu_\ell$ at Belle
[arXiv:1809.03290]
We present a new measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcb| from B0→D*-ℓ+νℓ decays, reconstructed with the full Belle data set of 711  fb−1 integrated luminosity. Two form factor parametrizations, originally conceived by the Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert (CLN) and the Boyd, Grinstein and Lebed (BGL) groups, are used to extract the product F(1)ηEW|Vcb| and the decay form factors, where F(1) is the normalization factor and ηEW is a small electroweak correction. The Belle II experiment will run with a reduced beam asymmetry and a factor of 40 higher instantaneous luminosity compared to the Belle experiment. To cope with this and to be able to perform high precision vertex measurements for charge conjugation parity violating processes, a pixel detector based on DEPFET technology will be installed in the center of Belle II. Search for an invisibly decaying $Z^{\prime}$ boson at Belle II in $e^+ e^- \to \mu^+ \mu^- (e^{\pm} \mu^{\mp})$ plus missing energy final states
[arXiv:1912.11276]
 GO
Using data collected by the Belle II experiment during 2018 at the SuperKEKB collider, we perform the first searches for the invisible decay of a $Z^{\prime}$ in the process $e^+ e^- \to \mu^+ \mu^- Z^{\prime}$ and of a lepton-flavor-violating $Z^{\prime}$ in $e^+ e^- \to e^{\pm} \mu^{\mp} Z^{\prime}$. We do not find any excess of events and set 90$\%$ credibility level upper limits on the cross sections of these processes. [...]
