QED contribution to J / ψ production with light hadrons at B factories
[arXiv:1301.4455; DESY-13-009; DESY 13-009]
o understand the J/ψ+Xnon-cc¯ production mechanism in e+e- annihilation, in this work, we propose to measure the cross section for J/ψ production without the association of a charm quark pair without any constraint on the number of charged tracks in the final state events except for the μ+μ- from J/ψ decay, which we will refer to here as J/ψ production with light hadrons at B factories. We also present a detailed study on its QED background due to ψ(2S) feed-down, where the ψ(2S) is produced through e+e-→ψ(2S)+γ and e+e-→ψ(2S)+ff¯ (f=lepton, light quark), as well as those due to the QED contribution to the direct J/ψ+qq¯ production with q=u, d, s quark. Emittance Growth due to Misalignment in Multistage Laser-Plasma Accelerators
Beam degradation is examined in a laser-plasma accelerator stage with a parabolic plasma channel when the laser pulse and/or the electron beam enters the channel off axis. Betatron oscillations in the beam become incoherent, resulting in a net increase of beam emittance through phase mixing. [...]

Laser and Electron Deflection from Transverse Asymmetries in Laser-Plasma Accelerators
We report on the deflection of laser pulses and accelerated electrons in a laser-plasma accelerator (LPA) by the effects of laser pulse front tilt and transverse density gradients. Asymmetry in the plasma index of refraction leads to laser steering, which can be due to a density gradient or spatiotemporal coupling of the laser pulse. [...]

Novel sampling strategies and a coarse‐grained score function for docking homomers, flexible heteromers, and oligosaccharides using Rosetta in CAPRI rounds 37–45
Proteins 2019, 1-13 () [10.1002/prot.25855]  GO
Critical Assessment of PRediction of Interactions (CAPRI) rounds 37 through 45 intro-duced larger complexes, new macromolecules, and multistage assemblies. For theserounds, we used and expanded docking methods in Rosetta to model 23 target com-plexes. [...]

Thermal induced NDC of electron swarms in N 2 and N 2 -like gases: the role of temperature and collision operator approximations
The role of temperature on the existence of negative differential conductivity(NDC)isinvestigated using Boltzmann equation calculations of electron swarms in gaseous nitrogen. Thiseffect has been observed previously in both experimental results and calculations, with theimportant role of superelastic rotational collisional processes in this phenomenon beingexamined in this work. A Paris-Edinburgh Cell for High-Pressure and High-Temperature Structure Studies on Silicate Liquids Using Monochromatic Synchrotron Radiation
Minerals 9(11), 715 () [10.3390/min9110715]  GO
Abstract: A Paris-Edinburgh press combined with a multi-channel collimator assembly has been commissioned at the GeoSoilEnviro Center for Advanced Radiation Sources (GSECARS) beamline for monochromatic X-ray scattering, with an emphasis on studying low-Z liquids, especially silicate liquids at high pressure. The Paris-Edinburgh press is mounted on a general-purpose diffractometer, with a pixel array detector mounted on the detector arm. [...]
